In short: Yansı does not send personal data to the developer, and the developer does not collect or store it. The game does not connect to the internet, require an account, show ads or contain analytics or tracking tools. Game progress stays on your device. Two-player modes connect phones directly over the local network or Bluetooth; your location is never read. The nickname you enter is shown to the other player as explained in section 4.
1. Who this policy covers
This policy covers the mobile game application Yansı, developed by Hakan Karateke. This document explains the app’s data practices.
2. Personal data collected
None. Yansı does not ask for or collect your name, email address, phone number, location, contacts, photos, device ID, advertising ID or any other personal data. There is no sign-up, sign-in or account creation in the app.
The app contains no analytics, crash reporting, advertising or tracking software (SDK) of any kind.
3. Information stored on your device
To keep your game progress, the following information is stored only in your own device's local storage (Android SharedPreferences). It is never sent to any server and cannot be seen by us or by third parties:
- Your high scores and longest distance for each game mode
- Total crystals collected and number of runs played
- Perfect Sync counters
- Your preferences: click sound, background music, vibration, language, streak reminder, control scheme
- Daily challenge streak, daily mission progress, unlocked achievements and the path of your best run of the day (ghost)
This data is anonymous and does not identify you. It is deleted completely when you uninstall the app. It can also be cleared with the delete-save option available in the developer build of the game.
4. Permissions and why they are requested
None of the single-player modes require any permission; the whole game can be played in airplane mode. The permissions below are used only when the named feature is used. Declining a permission requested at runtime does not break the game; only that feature is turned off.
- Internet, network and Wi-Fi state, multicast (INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE, ACCESS_WIFI_STATE, CHANGE_WIFI_MULTICAST_STATE) — so that two phones on the same local network can find and connect to each other in the WiFi modes. No data goes to the internet.
- Nearby devices / Bluetooth (BLUETOOTH_SCAN, BLUETOOTH_ADVERTISE, BLUETOOTH_CONNECT, NEARBY_WIFI_DEVICES) — so that two phones that are not on the same network can pair over Bluetooth and Wi-Fi Direct (Google Nearby Connections). Requested only when you host or look for a room in the WiFi section.
- Location (Android 12 and earlier only) — these Android versions require the location permission to scan for nearby Bluetooth devices. Your location is never read, stored or sent.
- Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS, RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED) — for a single local reminder in the evening when your daily streak is about to end. The reminder is scheduled on your device; it does not come from a server. It can be turned off in Settings.
No data goes to the internet in the WiFi and nearby-device modes. We have no server, no accounts and no matchmaking service. The two phones talk directly to each other, and the only personal detail shared is the nickname the player types; it appears only on your opponent's screen and is never stored. The local network address shown on the host's screen (for example 192.168.1.5) exists only so that a friend on the same network can connect by hand.
Sharing. When you tap SHARE on the result screen, an image showing your score and a text are handed to your device's share menu; you choose where they go. The text contains a "challenge code": the map seed, your score and the path of your run. The code carries nothing that identifies you. Nothing leaves your device unless you share it.
Camera, microphone, storage or contacts access is never requested. When you tap the Privacy Policy link in Settings, this page opens in your device's default browser; the app does not connect to the page itself. The data practices of the service hosting this page apply.
5. Third-party components
The app uses the following open-source software libraries. None of them collect personal data or send data out in this app:
- Flutter — application framework (Google)
- shared_preferences — local settings and score storage
- audioplayers — playing the melody generated inside the app
- flutter_animate — interface animations
- url_launcher — opening this policy page in the browser
- package_info_plus — showing the version number
- flutter_local_notifications, timezone — scheduling the streak reminder on the device
- share_plus — handing your result to the system share menu
- nearby_connections (Google Nearby Connections API) — connecting nearby phones without a shared network
- permission_handler — requesting the permissions above at runtime
- Rajdhani typeface — SIL Open Font License 1.1
If the app is distributed through Google Play, Google Play's own privacy policy and data practices also apply. Nearby Connections is part of Google Play Services; the connection is made directly between the two phones.
6. Children's privacy
Yansı is suitable for all ages. Because the app collects no personal data from anyone, including children, no data is collected from users under 13 either.
7. Data security and your rights
We hold no personal data of yours that we could provide, share or delete. You can delete the game progress stored locally on your device at any time by uninstalling the app. Since we do not store this data, you do not need to send us an access, correction or deletion request for it. Contact us at the address below if you have questions.
8. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when new features are added to the app. If there is a significant change, the "Last updated" date on this page will be changed. The current version is published on this page.
